We always love working with Jon and Julia of Maison J&J, but this project is a personal favourite of mine! It's got so many modern more minimalist features and yet still feels really warm and welcoming. We love the soft neutrals of clay-coloured cabinets and the wood shelving by the sink accented by the black window and pantry door. And that everything from the materials used to the cabinetry layout is perfectly balanced, creating a wonderfully harmonious kitchen.
For this project Jon and Julia created the SketchUp model themselves, working through the design details with their team. From there we took their .skp file and rendered the photorealistic renderings.

The living room features a modern horizontal fireplace with three sides of glass and marble floor-to-ceiling. The built-ins on either side are the same material and colour as the millwork in the kitchen which helps make it feel like one cohesive space.
They widened the existing window and brought it right down to the top of the countertop, giving off a more modern look while bringing in as much light as possible.
Instead of the stove wall being just a full wall of cabinets they've framed the millwork around the stove and the wood shelving with drywall. This feature helps balance the cabinetry around the stove and creates a more polished-looking set of shelves.
